A piece of Japan in Zamboanga

This week had been very gloomy and boring. Plus the sweater-weather makes you wanna scream for some life! Urgh! This feeling :(

When days like this make you want to go out and play. You might think of travelling but you can't, for whatever reason! (Work, school, or you're simply out of budget), maybe you would want to try a little offbeat!

Good news!
I know a place that could pull you out from misery and take your emotions to Japan feels.

Yes, you heard it right, Japan in Zamboanga! Asia's Latin City have been flourishing with establishments and business junctures. Today, I bring you Japan, right in the neighborhood!

Here's a sneak peek, this place converts your imagination into reality.

Japanese cuisine offers a wide range of gastronomical delights with boundless variety of dishes. From Ramen to Sashimi, Sushi, Bento, Rolls and Rice bowls, this restaurant uses only Authentic Japanese rice and ingredients! They will surely take you to Japan as soon as you get to taste their full-flavored dishes.

Samurai Sushi and Bento, have been established since September 2014. They have been experts in Sushi and Bento dishes made by superb Chefs who were trained by Japanese Chefs nonetheless.
Sliced Chasumin
 Tonkotsu Ramen
(Made with wheat noodles, pork-based broth flavored with soy sauce, sesame oil, topped with lots of sliced pork, bamboo shoots, nori and green onions)

This Tonkutso Ramen tastes as good as it looks, did you know that most Japanese and Koreans have good skin (face) because of the hot smoking soup that acts as a facial steamer. Another good reason to eat Ramen more often!

There's also Shoyu, Miso and Chasu Ramen with prices that ranges from P190.00 - P240.00. Not bad for a big bowl of hot Ramen to soothe your dying soul. #hugot

Another favorite is the Bento, with their bestseller the Beef Teppanyaki Bento.

Aside from this, are Ebi Tempura Bento, Tori Katsu,Tonkatsu, Sake Shioyaki and a lot more. A complete meal served with unlimited hot Miso soup. (P230.00- P330.00)

Miso Soup (P50.00)

Try their Sashimi, this is a Japanese delicacy consisting of raw fish or meat sliced thinly. You can really taste the freshness of the imported ingredient. I must commend how this dish was professionally done.
Maguro Sashimi (Tuna loin)

Sake Sashimi (salmon)
Another serving of Sake Sashimi
These tempting Sashimis are worth every penny! This seems reasonable enough compared to restaurants in Cebu or Manila without compromising the taste.
(P120.00 - P320.00)

The tempura batter was crunchy and the prawn was tasty. Good thing here unlike in other Jap Resto, you get more prawns and less of the batter.

If you're not much of a Sashimi fan, you might as well try their rice toppings. Gyudon or literally beef bowl are served with fully-flavored sliced Angus beef, onions, simmered soy sauce broth, rice topping. (P240.00)

Or Katsudon, rice toppings with breaded pork cutlet, onions, topped with a soft poached egg. (P240.00)

Up next are the Maki rolls that are way too good!!! I swear!
Spicy Tuna Maki (P180.00)
Sushi roll made of rice, cucumber, tuna loin, hot spices and seaweed.

And the famous California Maki (P170.00).

I swear, this is to die for! I have tried other Cali Maki but I must admit, this is the best that I have tasted! No ewwy-yucky taste!

Agedashi Tofu (P180.00) "Lightly deep-fried tofu" cut into cubes, lightly dusted with potato starch and deep fried until brown, with special sauce, bonito flakes and spring onions sprinkled on top .Paired with Yaki Soba (P190.00), stir-fried noodles, mixed vegetables and seaweeds mixed and flavored with yakisoba sauce.

Sukiyaki (P290.00)

Thin beef slices slowly cooked, tofu, rice noodles, mushrooms and alongside assorted vegetables served on a special soup broth in an iron pot. The ingredients are usually dipped in a small bowl of raw, beaten eggs after being cooked in the pot, and then eaten.

Japanese cuisine has salads too, with shredded crabsticks mixed with cucumber lettuce, nori and Japanese mayo.
Kani Salad  (P100.00)

This is the highlight of the night, when Mixed Sushi was served.

Spicy Tuna Roll - Soft Shell Crab Roll - Prawn Tempura Roll - California Roll
Mixed Sushi (P370.00)
Aside from the good-looking platter, this is super tasty as well, plus an "instagram-worthy" post is necessary!

Salmon Teriyaki
pan grilled salmon with teriyaki sauce
(P290.00)

Chicken Teriyaki is perfectly paired with Chahan (mixed fried rice) or Gohan (plain rice).

Japanese Green Tea can be served upon request, unlimited and on the house!

Japanese food skillfully prepared by experienced and trained chefs, with heart & passion combined!

The New Steakhouse in Zamboanga Everybody Will Be Talking About

I live in an urban city located in Mindanao and is popularly known as Zamboanga City . "Mi ciudad de Zamboanga"  is my home since birth, and I grew with the trends and economic improvements of this place but still maintains its local culture and colorful traditions. Today, I decided to blog about this new craze in town. Together with the vast growth of new stores and diners is the Newest Steakhouse that I have discovered. Located at Cabato Road, Brgy. Tetuan, Zamboanga City, PH  is this exquisite restaurant which serves mouth-watering steaks which Zamboangueños  and others will surely love.  The European cuisine appeals to the eclectic Pinoy crowd, which enjoys not only the food but also the elegant and comfortable atmosphere.  Steak and cutlet in particular are common dishes across the Menu. Sausages are amongst the newest hit, along with pasta, salads and desserts. S izzling steaks are their newest c...

To the Westside.

Hi lovies! It's so nice to be back! I missed this a lot, and been wanting to blog so soon, but this girl have been through a lot these past few months.  (I will try to blog about it next time😉)  So just today, My work got me travelling to the west part of the city and had the chance to wander around the area. Limpapa is the farthest barangay in the west side of the city. Most people would take that road to reach Sibuco,Zamboanga del Norte, which is geographically located beside Limpapa.  At present, Limpapa is well known for its marvelous Bridge, where most people took chance to travel and take selfies on it.  What makes this bridge special? 📌 The bright orange iron poles which looks perfect on pictures 📌 The turquoise background of the ocean or the greens of the mountain. 📌 And maybe because, it is one of a kind in the city. Usually, people would just park their vehicles on the bridge, but few would go down to the river, and have a different angle of the bridge ...
